Alex Castells is a 1'91 shooting guard born in 1991 who in 2007 was champion of Spanish Championship U16 as one of important players of this generation of DKV Joventut.

In addition Castells was also the silver medal in the Spanish Championships U16 for autonomies 2007, in which participated with Catalonia.

The last season before he signed with the DKV Joventut,2005-2006, and although first-year cadet, he participated in the Spanish Championship U16 club, being one of the Salesianos Vigo key players, which also played in junior level.

In 2008 he played with the Galician U20 team, which participated in the Vilagarcia Basket Cup teams against the potential of Zalgiris (lithuanian) or Khimki (russian), being the youngest player of the Galician team and one of the youngest tournament.

Castells can act as shooting guard or point guard, and he is characterized by great intensity in his game, both in defence and in attack, with one shoot more than acceptable and a good 1 vs 1.
  

In 2011 Álex Cástells played one match with LEB GOLD team, Leche Rio Breogán.
