Third win in a row for ara ADBA Avilés this time against Durán Maquinaria Ensino, 81 to 68.
Despite arriving to half time down by two points, Mijares team was able to win the game after a great second half in which they scored 45 points. Catherine Scanlon was the game MVP with 34 points (10/13 from the field, 4/6 in three pointers and 2/2 free throws) and 6 rebounds that raised her efficiency up to 36 in 34 minutes. Both achievements were special. 34 points ties the season high of any player in 2009-10 LF2 and 36 in efficiency is the highest efficiency by any player in the games played in this week. Catherine Scanlon after six rounds is currently averaging 17,2 points 7,2 rebounds per game with an average efficiency of 15,2. “Cat” was a college star at Drexel, where she averaged similar numbers (15,3 points and 7,4 rebounds in her senior year) and has european experience in Luxembourg where she averaged 26,3 and 23,6 points per game in her two seasons and also was able to average 20,6 points and 10,4 rebounds in FIBA Cup, shining for example against Leon with 25 points and 9 rebounds. Catherine Scanlon arrived to Spain after playing this summer the australian QBL where she was the league MVP after averaging 22,5 points and 12, rebounds per game. Aviles is right now the only team with two different MVP´s since Crista Rickets was also MVP in Week 2 after setting the current efficiency record with 40. She averages right now 19,3 points 7,2 rebounds and 19,5 in efficiency. ADBA Avilés hasn´t lost any home game and is tied in the fourth position with Pio XII and Ferrol with four wins and two losses. |
