The final series of Estonian Meistrilliga ended on Sunday with victory of BC Star over Tallina Living.
Both teams were clearly the best ones during the regular season and equality between the two was evident in the first two playoff games , which were both won by only two points by BC Star. The third game wasn´t an exception and the game was almost tied at halftime (42-41). A strong start in the third quarter allowed BC Star to break the game and win with a nice 10 points difference (76-66). Davineia Payne was the best player, scoring 32 points and winning the MVP of the Finals Award. Davineia´s season could not have been brighter, playing for her first time the FIBA Europe Cup where she averaged 13.5 points and 9,3 rebounds and the Baltic League where she was the third best scorer with 21.2 points per game, fourth rebounder with 9.6 rebounds and second in steals with 2.7 average. She was named in the best defensive five in the Baltic League, in the best imports team and also had an honorable mention at the individual level. In Estonian league, apart from being the Finals MVP and winning the Championship, Davineia averaged 24.2 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Davineia Payne profile |
