Meighan Simmons career began at Byron P. Steele High School where she averaged 21.6 points per game in the 2007/08 season, 24.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game in the 2008/09 season and finally 25.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.1 steals per game in the 2009/10 season.

After scoring 3406 points during High School, Meighan Simmons played for Tennessee and she averaged 13.5 points per game during the 2010/11 season, 11.1 points per game in the 2011/12 season, 16.8 points per game in the 2012/13 season and finally 16.5 points per game in the 2013/14 season which helped her to be selected with the 26th pick in the 2014 WNBA Draft by the New York Liberty.

During her college career, Meighan Simmons played the NCAA Elite 8 in the 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons and she was named in the First Team SEC Conference in the 2012/13 and in the 2013/14 seasons, being also named SEC Conference co-MVP in the 2012/13 season.

Meighan Simmons started her professional career in Europe during the 2014/15 season, playing in Romania for Arad and averaging 16.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.

In the 2015/16 season, Meighan Simmons signed in Italy with Umbertide and she was the league´s second best scorer with 21.6 points per game.

In the 2016 summer, Meighan Simmons played the WNBA with the Atlanta Dream and she averaged 3 points in 6 minutes per game.

Meighan Simmons had her Euroleague debut in the 2016/17 season, averaging 12.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game with Wisla Krakow while also averaging 12.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in 24 minutes per game in Polish League and becoming Polish Cup Champion.

In the 2017 summer, Meighan Simmons re-signed with the Atlanta Dream.

Meighan Simmons signed in Russia with Spartak Moscow during the 2017/18 season and she averaged 12.2 points and 2.9 rebounds in 24 minutes per game with 40% from the 3 point line, shining against Dynamo Kursk with 23 minutes in 18 minutes (7/9 threes) and against Enisey with 24 points.
