Sara Krnjic played in Vojvodina Novi Sad until the 2007/08 and already being just 16 years old she averaged 9.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game in the Eurocup.

Previously, in the 2006 sumer, Sara had reached the U16 European Championship Semifinals, averaging 9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game with Serbian National Team.

In 2008, Sara Krnjic signed with Mizo Pecs and she averaged 8.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game in the 2008/09 season, 11.9 points and 6 rebounds per game in the 2009/10 season and 11.4 points and 6.3 rebonds per game in the 2010/11 season.

During her 3 seasons in Pecs, Sara Krnjic also played the Euroleague, reaching the Quarterfinals in the 2008/09 season and she won the Hungarian League and Cup in the 2009/10 season.

With Serbia, Sara Krnjic played the U18 European Championship in 2009 and she averaged 15.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game and also the U20 European Championship in 2010, averaging 13.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.

In April 2011, Sara Krnjic was selected with the 35th pick of the WNBA Draft by the Washington Mystics.

In the 2011 summer, Sara Krnjic played the U20 European Championship and she averaged 15.8 points and 11.4 rebounds per game, being named in the Tournament First Team and reaching also the Semifinals.

In the 2011/12 season, Sara Krnjic signed with Sopron and she averaged 12.7 points and 7.2 rebounds in Hungarian League and 6.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per game in Euroleague, becoming Hungarian Cup Champion.

In the 2012/13 season, Sara Krnjic re-signed with Sopron and she averaged 10.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in Hungarian League and 9.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in Euroleague, becoming both Hungarian League and Cup Champion.

Sara continued in Sopron during the 2013/14 season and she averaged 9.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game in Hungarian League, 10.8 points and 6.7 rebounds in MEL and 8.5 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in the Euroleague.

Again, Sara Krnjic re-signed with Sopron in the 2014/15 season and she averaged 10.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in Hungarian League and 8.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in the Eurocup, being both Hungarian League and Hungarian Cup Champion.

In the 2015 summer, Sara Krnjic won the Gold Medal with Serbian National Team in the Eurobasket.

In the 2015/16, Sara Krnjic returned with Sopron to the Euroleague and she avearged 8.2 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in this competition while also having a great performance in Hungarian League with 12.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, becoming one more time Hungarian League Champion.

In the 2016 summer, Sara Krnjic won the Bronze Medal with the Serbian National Team in the Olympic Games played in Rio de Janeiro.

Finally, Sara Krnjic played her sixth year with Sopron during the 2016/17 season and she averaged 7.2 points and 4.5 rebounds in League and 9.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in the Euroleague, being both Hungarian League and Cup Champion.

In the 2017/18 season, Sara Krnjic signed with Szekszard and she averaged 11.7 points and 7 rebounds per game in Hungarian League and 13.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in the Eurocup, becoming Hungarian Cup Champion.

In the 2018/19 season, Sara Krnjic signed with Gyor and she averaged 6.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and +10.5 efficiency in 19 minutes per game in Hungarian League and 5.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and +8.3 efficiency in 21 minutes per game in the Eurocup.
