Despite arriving to Poland just a couple of days before, Sarah Elliott debuted last Sunday with 13 points and 4 rebounds in 14 minutes of play in her first game in Europe.
Her team, LKS Lodz is usually classified in the middle positions but this season they are at the bottom places of strong Poland´s first division, having only won two out of eighteen games so far. This past Sunday, LKS Lodz travelled to Jelenia Gora, to play against the home team, AZS KK Jelenia Gora, who was in the safe area of the classification, with 7 victories and 10 losses.
LKS Lodz got involved early in the game, achieving eving a 11-26 partial in the second quarter that allowed them to go to the dressing room with an encouraging 22-39 on the scoreboard. Again a good start in the third quarter with a new partial of 8-20 allowed them to create a huge gap which was slightly reduced in the last quarter to finally end up with 54-77 in favor of Sarah Elliott´s team.
Even without knowing their new teammates and slightly knowing the team sets, we can describe Sarah Elliott´s debut as excellent. In less than 15 minutes, Sarah Elliott scored 13 points with a brilliant series of 5 / 6 shots in the field, grabbed 4 rebounds , received 2 faults (3 / 4 free throws) and blocked a shot.
With this victory, LKS Lodz has one more reason to believe that salvation is possible and taking advantage of that next weedend they don´t have any league match, his coach Miroslaw Trzesniewski will have more time to adjust Sarah Elliott to his schemes.
