Lucas Mondelo and Iván Torinos made history after becoming Japanese League Champions with the Toyota Antelopes and breaking Eneos dominance, champions the last 11 consecutive seasons.

After a good regular season with 17 wins in 20 games, Lucas and Ivan won the west conference and qualified directly for League semifinals.

Once there, Toyota eliminated Fujitsu in two games (79-56 | 61-58) and won the first championship in Toyota history after defeating Eneos in the finals (71-66 | 70-60)
