Quique Roig is an experienced coach, with over 20 years in the benchs, although only just turned 40. Among his achievements are the ULEB Cup and the position of finalist in the ACB League playoff, which got as assistant Pamesa Valencia, in addition to multiple downstream EBA League as head coach and assistant, and promotions in both EBA League facets.
What have you done so far this season? I spent last season coaching the Mazarron Basket EBA league where we get to play the upstroke to LEB Plata, but unfortunately the economic problems have not allowed the club to continue with his sporting project. From there take the decision to use the year to try and recycle everything possible, going to training of other teams in all categories and seeing the maximum number of matches to spend a little more time to family and carrying over 20 years while coaching.
What would you say are your best strengths as a coach? Well, I think that they should look at other people, but if anything I say about me is the passion I have for this sport which brings me to analyze it from all points of view. It's clear that to achieve the objectives should be given the highest daily in all plots and learn a little more each day.
What has been the most of your coaching career? If I had to choose I'd pick the match that saw the rise of Rice Dacsa Almàssera to EBA league in season 05/06, were all circumstances for it to be special, my lifelong team, we played at home, attended by all top players and we win more than 30 points in the match that decided the climb.
A dream ... More than a dream, right now I want to have the opportunity to work in a club where you can have continuity in the work, either as manager or technical staff within the club.
