IVÁN TORINOS has signed in Japan with the Toyota Antelopes

Iván Torinos has accepted the Toyota challenge and he has become the head coach of the Toyota Antelopes with the goal of improving the 3rd position of last season and also of developing the players in order to try to reduce the gap and compete with JX Eneos Sunflowers, team that has won the last 9 Leagues in Japan with the help of WNBA player Ramu Tokashiki.

In Toyota, Iván Torinos has found a very professional club (Toyota is currently the 5th biggest company worldwide) and he is already in Nagoya working with the players that are not currently with the Japanese National Teams.

Iván Torinos had his first coaching experience during the 1987/88 season with Santiago Apóstol and until 1996 he coached in different catalan clubs like E.P. Les Corts, Oscus and Laietà.

In the 1996/97 season, Iván Torinos joined F.C.Barcelona and he was assistant coach in the U16 team.

In the 1997/98 season, Iván Torinos coached Mecano Cornellà senior women team and he competed in Primera B (Spanish 2nd division).

After coaching Santiago Apóstol in the 1998/99 and in the 1999/00 seasons, Iván Torinos joined C.B.Cornellà and remained in the club until the 2004/05 season, achieving during those 5 years multiple trophies and awards including being U14 Spanish Champion in 2004, Bronze Medalist in the 2002 U16 Spanish Championship, U14 Catalan Champion in 2002, U16 Catalan Champion in 2004, U16 Catalan Finalist in 2001 and U18 Catalan Finalist in 2005.

In the 2005/06 season, Iván Torinos signed with Femení Sant Adrià and he coached the senior women team, becoming Catalan Champion and promoting the team to Spanish Liga Femenina 2.

During the 2006/07 season, Ivan Torinos coached Femení Sant Adrià in Liga Femenina 2 and became LF2 Catalan Laegue Champion defeating Olesa in the final.

Iván Torinos extended his contract with Femení Sant Adrià during the 2007/08 season and he qualified for the playoffs to promote to Spanish top division and won again the LF2 Catalan League, this time against Uni Girona.

In the 2008/09 season, Iván Torinos remained in Sant Adrià and he qualified his team again for the Playoffs to Spanish top division and won his third LF2 Catalan League, again against Uni Girona.

In the 2009/10 season, Iván Torinos joined Segle XXI (Spanish Federation high performance project for top players in ages 14-18) and he remained in the center until the 2017/18 season, being since 2014 the head coach of the senior team and the director of the program.

Iván Torinos was also Catalunya U16 head coach and he won the Silver Medal in the U16 Spanish Championship in 2013 and the Bronze Medal in the U16 Spanish Championship in 2012. In 2015, Ivan Torinos also competed with the U16 Spanish National Team in the U16 European Championship and in assistant coach role he qualified in 4th position in the tournament.
