Gergana Slavcheva is a 1,86m international bulgarian wmall forward with WNBA experience (she was the 30th pick in 2002 WNBA Draft) as in the best european leagues, playing for many years in French and Italian 1st divisions and averaging always close to 15 points per game.
Gergana played the U16 European Championship with Bulgaria and averaged 16 points and 7,4 points per game. Being just 16 years old she also averaged 13 points and 6,5 rebounds per game in European Champions Cup.
Gergana attended Florida State International where she averaged in her last three years 17,6 points and 7,8 rebounds; 19,8 points and 6 rebounds and 16,6 points and 7,6 rebounds in her senior year (breaking the school´s record of three pointers made), being selected in the 30th pick in the 2002 WNBA Draft. Gergana Slavcheva played for La Spezia during the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 seasons, and averaging 15 points and 5,1 rebounds per game in a team that played Italian 1st division Semifinals. She also played FIBA Cup in 2004, averaging 13,1 points and 7,8 rebounds and shining against Tamika Whitmore´s CajaCanarias with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Gergana Slavcheva signed with Vicenza in Italian 1st division for the 2005-2006 season where she averaged 13,8points and 7,3 rebounds playing also the All Star Game.
Gergana Slavcheva signed with Tarbes, in French 1st division in 2006-07 and averaged 13,4 points 4,9 rebounds and 3,3 assists in League and 10,3 points 3,4 rebounds and 2,3 assists in FIBA Cup (shining in both wins against Leon with 15 and 16 points or against Dynamo Moscow (who had Rakhmatulina, Shchegoleva, Jekabsone, Nuria Martinez, Seimone Augustus and Rebekkah Brunson) where in a 65-68 defeat, Gergana had 16 points 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Gergana signed in march with Pool Comense and played the last 10 games where she averaged 10,3 points and 5,4 rebounds per game.
Gergana stayed in Pool Comense during the next two season, averaging 12,1 points 5,7 rebounds and 2,5 assists in the 2007-08 season and 9,8 points 4,5 rebounds and 3,3 steals in the 2008-09 season. Gergana Slavcheva has also played during many years with Bulgarian National Team, averaging in the Qualifyings for European Championships: 10,2 points and 5,2 rebounds (1999), 7,8 points and 4,6 rebounds (2001), 11 points and 5,5 rebounds (2003), 7,2 points and 3,3 rebounds (2005) and 11,3 points and 4,3 rebounds per game (2009). Gergana is a experienced player with great phisical skills and also a quality player. Her strong body allows her to defend all kind of forwards and to be a great rebounder for the 3 position. Gergana is also a good passer and a good one on one player thanks to her first step and her fast and accurated three point shot.
