Ashley Hayes is a talented American shooting guard who after an extraordinary career at Murray State University where she was the seventh leading scorer of all NCAA Division 1 (averaging 22.6 points per game) has signed contract with Connecticut Sun of the WNBA.

Ashley Hayes career started at Humboldt High where she played for four seasons. Ashley was named district MVP after averaging 30 points 18 rebounds 10 assists and 8 thefts per game in her senior year.

Later, in the 2005-2006 season, Ashley joined Murray State University and started having success early, being the second-leading scorer in her rookie year.

Each year her numbers got better, raising to 12.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game as a sophomore and to 18.4 points and 8.4 rebounds in her junior season where she was named Player of the Year in the OVC conference and also in the best team.

Murray State won the OVC championship so they were invited to play in the NCAA Championishp. In the first round, Murray State played against Duke and Ashley Hayes scored 26 points with six three-pointes against players like Chante Black (# 10 WNBA Draft 2009), Abby Waner (#21 WNBA Draft 2009) or Wanisha Smith (# 27 WNBA Draft 2008).

Ashley Hayes´senior season was individually the most successful of her career, averaging 22.6 points and 9.5 rebounds per game with an excellent 36.4% in three pointers.

Ashley was the seventh leading scorer of the entire first division of the NCAA and the best player in the OVC conference over the past two years. Following her college career Ashley has signed with the WNBA Connecticut Sun.

Ashley Hayes is a very athletic player that can both penetrate and shoot form medium and long distance. Her three point percentage is real good and it´s one of her main threats that she combines with a good usage of fakes. This mix makes her a difficult player to defend on the perimeter.

Also her athleticism heps her to be a good defender and she can really contribute in rebounding (she was a top40 in rebounding in her senior year despite being a perimeter player) and steals.

Ashley Hayes started her overseas career in 2009-2010 signing for TSV Wasserburg, runnerup for the championship the previous season and German champion2003 until 2008. Ashley Hayes averaged 17,9 points and 4,6 rebounds per game with excellent 51% from the field and 40% in three pointers.

Ashley signs in Herner, in german 1st division in January 2011, averaging 9 points and 2,5 rebounds in 23 minutes per game, shining against Chemnitz with 19 points and 3 three pointers.
