Milena Tomova is a 1,88m international Bulgarian power forward who after playing in NCAA for Florida International University with big numbers returned to Europe and has played in the first divisions of France, Spain, Hungary and Italy.


After playing in the youth teams of Slavia Sofia, Milena Tomova played her last season in Bulgaria during the 2000-2001 season. Milena played the Ronchetti Cup being just 18 years old and was one of the best players in the competition, averaging 18,6 points and 8,5 rebounds, shining specially in games like against C.S. Rapid with 30 points and 14 rebounds or against Tim Skuf with 38 points and 10 rebounds. Milena Tomova started her American experience in the 2001-2002 season, after accepting a scholarship to play in 1st division NCAA University of Florida International.

Milena improved every year, already averaging excellent 16,6 points and 8,6 rebounds in her junior year and exploding in the 2003-2004 season, in her senior year with 19,1 points and 8,3 rebounds per game. Milena scored 43 three pointers (35% efficiency) in just 29 games and also had two blocks per game. After college, Milena signed with Perfumerias Avenida of Salamanca, where she was runner up in 1st Division Spain Regular Season and won the Spanish Championship. She also played FIBA Cup and averaged 5,5 points and 2,4 rebounds in just 13 minutes of play with excellent percentages.

In the 2006-2007season, Milena signed with Szeviep Szeged of the Hungarian first division and averaged 13 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists in League and 12.1 points and 5 rebounds in FIBA Cup with 37% in three pointers. Milena played the final of the Cup and was League Semifinalist. In the 2007-2008 season, Milena renewed with Szeged improving her numbers to 15.1 points and 6.8 rebounds with 61.7% from the field in Hungarian League and 16.1 points and 6.6 rebounds in FIBA Cup and reaching again Semifinals in League. Milena Tomova was named the MVP of the league and also in the best Bosman five and best five of the League, playing also the All Star Game.

Milena Tomova started the 2008-2009 season playing again for Szeviep Szeged and again played Fiba Cup, averaging 7.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. She also played for Lavezzini Parma in Italian 1st division in the last two months of the league. Milena has played for Bulgarian National Teams for many years, playing in her first European U18 championship being just 16 years old. Two years later and again in the U18, Milena Tomova averaged 16.6 points and 10 rebounds per game in the Challenge Round and 15.3 points and 7.7 rebounds in the Qualifying Round of the European Championship. She starred in the European Championship with 17.1 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, shining with 25 points against Czech Republic who has Jana Vesela and Eva Vitecková.

Milena started playing in the senior national team being 19 years old and played more often after returning from USA. Milena Tomova played with Bulgarian national team in the Qualifying Round for European Championship 2007, averaging 13.4 points and 4.9 rebounds with 45% from the field and 37% in three pointers. Milena shone with 18 points and 7 rebounds against Leuchanka, Kress and Troina´s Belarus or 15 points and 5 rebounds against Cohen, Selwyn and Suez Karni´s Israel. She also played the Qualifying round for European Championship 2009, averaging 8,5 points and 7,5 rebounds per game.
